Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. You will serve as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes throughout design reviews, inspections, and testing.

The role involves coordinating with project teams, performing QA, reviewing submittals, and providing technical guidance on facility design and construction features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of fire protection requirements related to UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for successful fire protection features.
• Perform reviews and QA activities across construction phases.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with project docs and contracts.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Serve as fire-safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
• Review submittals and provide technical comments and recommendations.
• Evaluate RFIs and field changes; support final acceptance testing.
