Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Project Engineer Designer to independently design and evaluate fire suppression and fire alarm systems. You will apply engineering judgment to determine configurations, interpret fire protection codes, and develop compliant designs while supporting project teams through commissioning and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of technical experience in the fire protection industry.
• Working knowledge of fire protection codes and standards.
• Ability to analyze building conditions and apply technical standards to system design.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and project specifications.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• NICET certification or progress toward certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety systems.
• Develop and update system design drawings, including as-built revisions.
• Evaluate field conditions and determine required design modifications.
• Interpret codes and standards to ensure system compliance.
• Review inspection findings and recommend corrective design actions.
• Conduct site evaluations and provide technical project support.
• Assist with system startup, commissioning, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Create operation and maintenance manuals and project closeout documentation.
• Coordinate design requirements with internal and external project teams.
• Participate in manufacturer training programs and stay current on industry best practices.
