About the job Fire Suppression Design Engineer

My client is looking for -looking for either one Senior Level or one Junior Level depending upon the experience. For this role, the applicant would be a fire protection designer to design special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software applications, adhering to local, national, and manufacturer requirements.
• Direct contractors in the proper installation and operation of systems.
• Survey job sites to ensure proper system design and installation.
• Read, review, and implement customer-supplied project specifications.
• Attend manufacturer training classes and other continued education training
• Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals.
• Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks such as process improvement.
• Assist with system inspection and maintenance (if needed).
• Assist in system startups and commissioning (if needed).

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the Fire Protection Industry is required
• Previous experience as a Design Engineer
• Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting.
• Knowledge and efficient use of 3D design software.
• Understanding of MS Office applications.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information.
• Desire to learn industry standards.
• Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification.
