Lincoln Fire & Rescue seeks a strategic Fire Marshal to lead a team focused on fire prevention, inspection, and code compliance. You will oversee division personnel, resources, and specialized functions, guiding staff and maintaining high technical standards.

The role emphasizes community risk reduction, data-driven strategies, and coordinating with city departments, regulatory agencies, and partners to advance fire and life-safety goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fire science, fire protection engineering, public administration, or related field.
• Five years of experience in fire prevention, inspection, or life safety.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• CFI and CFEI certifications.
• Completion of NIMS/ICS courses ICS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team dedicated to fire prevention, inspection, and code-compliance operations.
• Oversee division personnel, resources, and specialized functions (fire investigation, plan review, enforcement, Hazardous Device Team).
• Set priorities, guide staff development, evaluate operations, and maintain professional expertise.
• Analyze data to identify trends and develop targeted prevention strategies.
• Lead public education initiatives and coordinate with city departments, regulatory agencies and partners.
• Represent Lincoln Fire Rescue in professional activities and special projects.
