Job summary

The City of Henderson is seeking a highly qualified Fire Marshal to provide executive leadership for fire safety inspections and plan reviews. You will oversee building inspection services and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and departmental objectives.

The role includes administering fire code provisions and supervising the division in the manager's absence. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in a related field and extensive governmental fire prevention experience, plus ICC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science, Fire Prevention, Architecture, Fire Protection Engineering or related field
• Seven (7) or more years in fire prevention for government, including 3 years in management/supervision
• Certifications required by appointment: CPSE Fire Marshal or Certified Fire Code Official and Certified Building Official

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership in coordinating fire safety inspections and plan reviews
• Oversee building inspection services and ensure compliance with codes and objectives
• Serve as city fire marshal and manage fire code enforcement
• Coordinate and supervise in absence of the inspection services manager
• Support post-offer background checks and medical/physical examinations as required
