Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Fire Protection Technology (Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred).
• Ten years of paid full-time Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) experience.
• Advanced fire protection certifications and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Fire Marshal Division operations and develop a strategic staffing plan.
• Ensure arson investigations comply with industry standards.
• Plan and execute fire inspection and investigation programs to verify code compliance.
• Collaborate with other city departments and community partners.
• Oversee budget preparation and staff training/certification.
• Present findings in formal settings and participate in public education efforts.
