Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Fire Engineering Manager in the Community/Health sector. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, mentor staff, and coordinate multi-discipline design efforts to deliver high-quality building systems.

The role requires deep technical knowledge, strong communication, and a proven track record in project leadership and staff development. An PE license is preferred, with opportunities for Engineer of Record responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical/fire protection or architectural) is required or preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in engineering disciplines is required.
• Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu is required or highly preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and mentoring skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Leads, manages and mentors a team of engineers and designers within assigned sector.
• Acts as a hiring manager and provides performance feedback and career guidance.
• Manages staff assignments to match project scopes and monitors progress.
• Provides coaching and conducts regular one-on-one meetings to guide development.
• Oversees design documents, drawings, schematics and project deliverables.
