Job summary

M.R. ELECTICIANS, INC. is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, maintain, inspect, test, and service fire alarm systems on commercial sites across the DMV area.

You will serve as technical lead on job sites, coordinate with subcontractors and project management, and ensure work meets NFPA 72, NEC, and local codes. You will mentor apprentices, read blueprints, and document service tickets. The role reports to the Director of Operations and requires a Maryland journeyman license or

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland State Journeyperson Electrician License or reciprocal state license.
• NICET Level III Certification or 3+ years hands-on fire alarm experience with goal to obtain NICET Level III.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC and local codes.
• Ability to read and interpret fire alarm blueprints and specs.
• Experience programming, enabling, and disabling fire alarm systems.
• Proven troubleshooting and mentoring skills.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background/drug checks.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems per NFPA 72/NEC and local codes.
• Program, enable, and disable systems during installation, commissioning, testing, and service calls.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to guide work.
• Supervise AHJ inspections and address deficiencies promptly.
• Order materials and manage on-site inventory.
• Collaborate with Director of Operations and project management to complete on time.
• Train and mentor apprentices and helpers on fire alarm systems and safety.
• Ensure safety policies are followed on all sites.
