Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA and local codes. The role requires NICET II certification or progress toward it, and a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities include communicating system performance to customers, reading blueprints, maintaining equipment, and responding to service requests, with after-hours rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• Per NFPA and local code standards, perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems.
• Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers.
• Read blueprints and drawings; maintain truck inventory.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and inspection of fire alarm systems per NFPA and local codes.
• Functionally-test Initiating Devices, Notification Appliances, and other components.
• Prepare inspection and service reports accurately and timely.
• Respond to service requests and diagnose malfunctions to bring systems into compliance.
• Maintain relationships with building owners and managers; assist in quoting repairs.
• Be on rotation to respond to after-hours service calls as scheduled.
