Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Project Leader 2 to design, lead and deliver fire alarm systems for facilities and plants.

You will manage contracts from concept through commissioning, coordinating with engineering and field teams to ensure safety, schedule adherence and profitability. Strong knowledge of IBC, NEC and NFPA codes is required. The role requires leadership of a 5-10 person team across multiple locations, cost estimating, subcontract management, and close collaboration with

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering with 5+ years in project leadership responsible for budget, schedule and delivery.
• B.S. Degree in Engineering and relevant field experience.
• IBC, NEC, and NFPA code knowledge or willingness to ramp up.
• Experience on electrical projects ranging from $500K to $10M.
• Experience with contract drawings, subcontracts, change orders and submittals.
• Proficient in MS Excel; scheduling experience (MS Project) is a plus.
• Strong writing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects ranging $500K-$3M in value with 5-10 personnel.
• Lead fire alarm detection and suppression system contracts within design-build or turnkey environments.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals; plan kickoff meetings.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and profitability; ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering, installation teams, and customers; track schedules.
• Oversee procurement, testing, and commissioning activities; obtain AHJ approvals.
• Prepare and present weekly project status to customers; maintain records.
