Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Install Sr Technician to independently install and service fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with codes and company standards. The role involves leading installations, inspections, and testing while guiding entry-level technicians and apprentices.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 5+ years in fire and life safety, and strong knowledge of fire alarm systems. NICET II or higher is preferred, with licensing as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• Fire Alarm experience is required.
• Portables and Suppression experience is heavily preferred.
• NICET Level II or above preferred.
• May hold applicable state or local licenses where required.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and suppression systems.
• Complete installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and system verification.
