Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced field technician to install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans, specs, and codes. You will perform testing, troubleshooting, and on-site coordination with team members and stakeholders.

The role requires reading drawings, working independently on standard installations, and maintaining safety and documentation at every site. Travel to various job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire and life safety installations is required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
