Job summary

Gusto seeks a senior Product Manager for its Wallet consumer money team in a role that blends payroll, banking, and fintech. You will own the roadmap for consumer financial services, shaping features that help workers manage cash flow, save automatically, and access earned wages.

This role requires deep product leadership and strong collaboration across engineering, design, data, risk, and legal. You’ll measure success with KPIs around activation, funding, engagement, and retention, while

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience in accounting/financial software or adjacent domain.
• Familiarity with AI tools and prototypes to accelerate development lifecycle.
• Data-oriented with using data to inform decisions and track outcomes.
• Familiarity with accounting concepts (journal entries, reconciliation) and ability to ramp into accounting product space.
• Comfortable facing ambiguous problems.
• Ability to wear multiple hats (research, forecasting, prototyping) within a week.
• Understand how a feature fits into the broader accounting system.
• Experience with detailed workflows, data mappings, ledger concepts, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Own roadmap initiatives spanning Gusto financial services, helping workers make financial progress across spending, saving, credit, and money management.
• Ship consumer banking experiences across onboarding, activation, usage, retention, and engagement.
• Take ownership of business outcomes of your workstream.
• Be the fintech infrastructure and payments expert that untangles complexity and ships durable systems.
• Leverage Gusto's payroll ecosystem to build features unique to income origination.
• Understand hourly and salaried workforces to craft product narratives and progress.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship resilient, compliant products.
• Evaluate opportunities with external vendors (issuing banks, card processors, banking providers).
• Define KPIs around activation, funding, engagement, and retention; use data to prioritize and iterate.
