Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Product Manager to lead and scale small business banking initiatives within its Business Money team. You’ll own end-to-end fintech products from onboarding to funding, partner with risk/legal, and drive data-driven outcomes across acquisition, activation, and retention.

This role blends product leadership with banking knowledge in a fast-moving, AI-enabled environment. You will collaborate across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Ops to ship

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience in fintech, banking, or adjacent industries.
• Hands-on familiarity with business banking, BaaS platforms, deposit products, or money movement rails.
• Thrives in 0→1 environments and knows how to take a product from pre-beta to launch with limited resources.
• Has run a real experimentation practice — hypothesis, test design, readout, decision.
• Understands regulatory and operational complexity of banking products and can partner with Risk/Legal/Compliance.
• Cares deeply about small businesses and wants to build trusted accounts.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver core workstreams spanning small business banking—application/identity verification, linking, funding, payments, cards, ongoing servicing.
• Own growth and adoption end-to-end from acquisition through funded, active accounts, plus continuous funnel experimentation.
• Take responsibility for business outcomes of your workstream as a true owner.
• Be the fintech infrastructure and payments expert that untangles complexity and ships durable systems.
• Define how banking connects to the rest of the Gusto platform and position the account as the default funding source.
• Design for self-serve by anticipating where customers get stuck and resolve in-product.
• Coordinate daily with cross-functional teams to ship compliant, delightful products.
• Partner with external vendors to deliver reliable, integrated experiences.
• Understand customers’ cash flow and spending dynamics to craft product narratives.
• Measure KPIs around account opening, funding, deposit growth, and primacy; drive prioritization and learning.
