Clera is hiring a backend engineer to build consumer-facing features in a Series A fintech environment. You will develop end-to-end backend components, integrate APIs, and work on data-informed releases that improve financial wellbeing for users.

The role emphasizes building reliable systems with event-driven architectures and robust SQL data models. The position is on-site in San Francisco, with visa sponsorship available, and requires strong CS fundamentals, CI/CD practices, and collaboration

Competenze

• 3+ years of experience building backend features for production systems.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka, Pub/Sub or similar).
• Proficiency designing and consuming RESTful APIs with auth and rate limiting.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, data modeling, and SQL analytics.
• Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, system design.

Mansioni

• Build features end to end from domain models to API integrations.
• Deliver and iterate using data-informed, incremental releases.
• Use SQL and analytics tools to evaluate performance.
• Debug state machines in event-driven systems with pub/sub.
• Ship through CI/CD and own production implementations, respond to incidents.
