Adyen in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to apply expert understanding of risks in card issuing and banking products for merchant and platform customers. You will partner with Commercial, Legal, Risk and Operations to assess AML/CFT, regulatory, and scheme obligations and to implement sound risk-based solutions.

You’ll lead initiatives to automate workflows, maintain the Prohibited and Restricted List, and collaborate across time zones to advance compliant growth.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of experience in compliance, regulatory, or risk within financial institutions, fintechs, or related sectors.
• Deep knowledge of card issuing and/or banking products for merchant and platform customers.
• Strong understanding of financial crime, scheme, and regulatory risks in payments and banking.
• Experience partnering with commercial/onboarding teams to evaluate business opportunities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate risk into actionable insights.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; collaborative in cross-functional environments.

Responsabilités

• Drive growth of financial products from a compliance perspective with Sales, Strategy, Product, and Account Management.
• Provide senior-level advice to resolve complex compliance matters across acquiring, banking, issuing and other financial services products.
• Coordinate with legal, risk, scheme, and operations to analyze AML/CFT, regulatory and scheme obligations.
• Support expansion and maintenance of Adyen’s Prohibited and Restricted List for issuing and banking products.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements, including AI tools, to optimize compliance workflows.
• Contribute to escalation frameworks and procedures to improve team effectiveness.
• Collaborate with global colleagues across time zones to ensure smooth communication and execution of initiatives.
