Job summary

Adyen is seeking a senior Head of Growth for Scheme Compliance to lead a globally distributed team, bridging compliance, product, partnerships and commercial strategy to drive growth while preserving strong control. This role is based in New York City or San Francisco and reports to the executive team.

Qualifications

• Experience translating regulatory and scheme requirements into system behavior and configuration rules.
• Proven track record leading global cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of payments ecosystems including card networks and alternative methods.
• Ability to design guardrails for new payment flows and decide launch vs. decline based on risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a globally distributed team focused on growth initiatives across products and geographies.
• Define growth strategy for Scheme Compliance and prioritize launches, market expansion, and onboarding of payment methods and financial partners.
• Collaborate with Commercial and Sales to identify merchant needs and translate demand into product roadmaps, requirements, and build decisions for Product and Engineering.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed compliance into payment flows, data models, and configuration standards.
• Develop operating models with clear control points, monitoring requirements, and regulator-ready documentation.
• Drive cross-functional programs across Commercial, Partnerships, Legal, Risk, and Product to accelerate time-to-market.
