Job summary

Compassion International is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to bridge Finance Systems Support and FP&A, ensuring budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making are supported by technology and data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in finance, FP&A, or related field.
• 4-5 years of Workday Financials experience.
• 2-3 years of Adaptive Planning experience, with budgeting and forecasting in the platform.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis processes.
• Experience translating business requirements into system solutions.
• Strong finance knowledge: budgeting, cash flow, reporting.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The expected salary range for this position is $106,400.00 - $127,511.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. The Senior Financial Systems Analyst serves as a trusted advisor and key business partner who bridges Finance Systems Support and FP&A. This role combines strong financial acumen with practical systems expertise to ensure Finance teams can effectively leverage technology, data, and processes to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.

As the primary connection point between Finance users and finance technology solutions, this individual partners closely with FP&A, Finance Systems, Accounting, Treasury, IT, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into system capabilities, improve user experience, strengthen data integrity, and drive process improvements. Success in this role requires the ability to understand how finance work gets done, identify opportunities for improvement, influence stakeholders, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, and help bring solutions from concept through implementation.

• Serve as the primary business partner between FP&A and Finance Systems, helping ensure financial systems effectively support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
• Build strong relationships with FP&A analysts and other Finance stakeholders to understand their business challenges, data needs, and process requirements.
• Support and enhance Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, and other finance technologies to improve the user experience and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with Finance and IT teams to translate business requirements into practical system solutions and process improvements.
• Develop a deep understanding of Finance processes, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial controls, and data governance.
• Identify system, process, and data gaps that impact efficiency, accuracy, or decision-making and recommend solutions.
• Help maintain reliable, consistent financial data and support Finance’s source-of-truth systems and reporting structures.
• Support annual budgeting, forecast cycles, and ongoing financial planning activities through system readiness, maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Build business cases and communicate the value, impact, and rationale for proposed changes to gain stakeholder alignment and adoption.
• Lead or support projects that improve finance processes, reporting capabilities, data quality, and system functionality.
• Collaborate with technical teams, developers, and business partners to implement enhancements and resolve complex issues.
• Proactively challenge existing practices and identify opportunities to improve how Finance work is performed across the organization.

What do you bring?

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in finance, financial systems, FP&A, business systems analysis, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of Workday Financials experience required.
• 2-3 years of Adaptive Planning experience required, with the ability to support budgeting and forecasting processes within the platform.
• Experience supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis processes.
• Experience working with enterprise finance systems and translating business requirements into system solutions.
• Strong understanding of finance concepts, including budgeting, forecasts, financial statements, cash flow, and reporting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and act as a bridge between business and technology teams.
