Job summary

The role partners with Audit, Finance, and Leadership to maintain strong controls, implement new accounting pronouncements, and coordinate with SOX/FDICIA requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Active CPA license in South Carolina is required.
• 5+ years banking experience or related experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and financial institution regulations, with SEC/EDGAR reporting experience preferred.
• 5-10 years accounting/financial reporting experience; solid GAAP understanding.
• Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other SEC filings to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and analyze supporting schedules, disclosures, MD&A, footnotes, and other external reporting components.
• Stay current on SEC, PCAOB, and regulatory updates and communicate impacts to Bank leadership.
• Research and document complex accounting issues, including new GAAP standards.
• Lead implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to internal partners and senior leadership.
• Coordinate internal controls over financial reporting in line with SOX/FDICIA requirements.
• Partner with internal and external auditors; prepare audit support packages and respond to inquiries.
• Suggest policy changes to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate across Accounting, Operations and Risk Management to ensure data accuracy.
