Job summary

CFS is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant in Houston, TX, to join a seasoned accounting and financial reporting team. The role focuses on internal and external financial reporting, quarterly statements, and equity accounting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on financial reporting within industry. Public accounting experience is valued, CPA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong financial reporting experience within industry.
• Experience with equity transactions/accounting.
• CPA preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Flexible, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare internal and external financial reporting packages.
• Assist with preparation of quarterly financial statements and reporting.
• Support equity accounting and transactions, including stock options and stock repurchases.
• Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and financial statement documentation.
• Partner with accounting leadership throughout the quarter-end and year-end close/reporting process.
• Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
• Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation.
• Adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of reporting responsibilities within a collaborative team.
