Job summary

The ideal candidate has strong experience in financial reporting, SEC filings, and internal controls, plus advanced Excel and familiarity with Workiva, Wdesk, or XBRL.

Financial Reporting Accountant (Contract)
Hybrid in Indianapolis
4-6 months duration
Our client is hiring an interim Financial Reporting Accountant to ensure financial statements and disclosures are reported in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. This role will assist with the external audit process for consolidated financial statements as well as the standalone audits for select US companies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for providing information required on the multiple deliverables to corporate reporting group as part of the month/quarter/year end close process (review and submission of trial balances, Annual and Quarterly Reporting Packages, Cash Flows, MD&A's, Disclosure Checklist, Representation Letters and subsequent event tracker) for various business lines as assigned.
• Act as liaison with external auditors during quarter end and year end review processes for financial statements as well as the standalone audits for select US companies.
• Provide timely and accurate external filings required by legal agreements and local laws and regulations on a consistent basis.
• Develop, implement and maintain procedures, metrics, and instructions for completion of financial statements for external use as well as reports submitted to corporate.
• Develop, implement and maintain appropriate documentation and review standards and train staff to assist in quality control reviews.
• Stay current on relevant GAAP issues and provide timely documentation of key issues and relevance for review and decision making by senior management.
• Manage information requirements, minutes, meeting scheduling and agendas for the pre-close calls as needed.
• Assist in development / maintaining adequate SOX compliance as it relates to required financial controls / disclosures.
• Support the evaluation of quarterly technical issues as warranted as well as in the coordination of disclosure information required to prepare 10-Q's and 10-K's.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors and / or Masters degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of experience with technical financial reporting / SEC financial reporting
• Self-starter
• Attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills
• Financial reporting software experience (Workvia, Wdesk, XBRL)
