Vaco by Highspring in Indianapolis is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst for a contract engagement. The role focuses on strategic financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support senior leadership.

You will partner with Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other functions to drive cost optimization, model financial scenarios, and deliver dashboards and reports to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related role.
• Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst for a contract opportunity. This role will provide strategic financial insights and support the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders across the organization. The Senior FP&A Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial performance, improve business processes, and support strategic decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Perform variance analysis comparing actual results against budget and forecast, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with business units to gather data, understand assumptions, and ensure accurate financial projections.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Conduct detailed profitability analysis, cost analysis, and scenario modeling to support strategic initiatives.
• Analyze key financial metrics and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and executive teams.

Business Partnering

• Partner with Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
• Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for cost optimization and profitability improvement.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business leaders, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Process Improvement & Special Projects

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of FP&A activities.
• Develop and maintain financial models and tools supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CFO or Controller.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure financial planning and analysis activities align with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to financial planning and analysis.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• MBA or CPA preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related role.
• Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

Additional Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to lead projects, mentor junior analysts, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of business operations, financial performance drivers, and industry trends.
