SageSure is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to support the development and execution of the Company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. The role is instrumental in preparing accurate and timely financial statements, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, accounting standards and internal policies. This position will also work cross-functionally with Carrier Reporting and FP&A teams to support internal and external reporting requirements, audits, and special projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality work products within tight deadlines.

What you’d be doing:

  • Prepare and review monthly , quarterly , and annual financial statements and related disclosures for internal management and external investors.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of detailed monthly financial reporting supporting schedules to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data .
  • Support the consolidation of multiple entities, including eliminations and intercompany transactions, and non-controlling interest considerations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial information required by lenders , including covenant calculations.
  • Develop, maintain , and deliver financial analytics to executive management .
  • Create and maintain dashboards for department executive heads.
  • Reconciliation of accounting transactions between general ledger and the reporting system.
  • Gain an understanding of technical transactions to ensure accurate reflection in the financial statements.
  • Research and understand material variances in month-over-month financial statement activity and budget variances and document monthly highlights to be delivered with draft financials.
  • Assist with budget uploads and reports used in financial reporting.
  • Assist with the audited financial statement process and prepare footnote support schedules to facilitate the annual external audit.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Information Systems
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting role
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control principles
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite; familiarity with NetSuite Planning and Budgeting software is a plus
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to deliver highly accurate work products
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and company policies
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Experience in MGA/MGU insurance operations
  • Certified Public Accountant or CPA candidate
  • Experience in Microsoft office suite with intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in NetSuite, Concur, Lease Query, Workiva
  • Experience in Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Experience in interfacing applications with accounting software
  • Big 4 or national/regional firm experience a plus
