Job summary

Harvard University’s Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences seeks a Manager of Financial Operations to lead payroll, accounting, procurement, and endowment funding activities.

You will implement process improvements, supervise a financial operations team, and partner with university and school leadership to ensure accurate, timely services. The role emphasizes internal controls, policy development, and leveraging technology (including AI) to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience.
• Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations functions at SEAS, including procurement, reimbursements, card management, system access requests, PCI compliance; and team oversight.
• Review contracts and approve purchase orders with stakeholders and GC/Procurement.
• Oversee content, design, and management of the internal website for financial operations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with SEAS leadership on process improvements and policy development.
• Lead and develop the Financial Operations Team and ensure high-quality customer service.
