Job summary

Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) seeks a Manager of Financial Operations to lead financial services, payroll, procurement, and endowment activities. This key role partners with the Controller to implement best practices and leverage technology for efficiency.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, supervisory leadership, and a strong foundation in financial systems. Hybrid on-campus work schedules are available in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience.
• Supervisory experience is required.
• Advanced degree (MBA or MS) and nonprofit sector experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead Financial Operations and planning for SEAS, including payroll, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, procurement, and endowment funding.
• Oversee procurement processes, card management, and compliance with internal controls.
• Review contracts and approve purchase orders with stakeholders and GC/Strategic Procurement.
• Maintain internal website content for financial operations and communicate policies.
• Collaborate with SEAS faculty administration, research administration, and other leadership.
