Job summary

Mercury is hiring a Senior Financial Data Reconciliation Analyst to standardize and scale reconciliation across banking partners and internal systems. You will lead cross‑functional initiatives, own end-to-end reconciliation design, and mentor peers to strengthen technical and investigative skills.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and banking partners to resolve complex breaks and drive durable improvements across our transaction flows in a dynamic fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience handling complex transactional/financial data in fintech or financial services.
• Knowledge of banking rails and card networks (ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, Visa, Mastercard).
• Advanced SQL skills and data transformation pipelines (dbt or similar).
• Strong analytical skills for investigating financial data discrepancies.
• Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation or matching tools (e.g., Blackline).
• Experience building monitoring/BI dashboards (Omni, Looker, Tableau).
• Track record leading cross-functional initiatives across technical and non-technical partners.
• Experience mentoring other analysts and supporting audits/regulatory work.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reconciliations for new and existing products and funds flows.
• Develop and maintain data transformations, enrichment logic, and matching rules.
• Monitor and investigate reconciliation exceptions; perform root-cause analysis.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and reporting for reconciliation risks and improvements.
• Define requirements for new products and funds flows with cross-functional partners.
• Support month-end close and audit readiness with timely analyses.
• Shape the reconciliation control roadmap as product coverage grows.
• Mentor analysts to grow technical and investigative skills.
