Job summary

Mercury is building a complete finance stack for startups. We seek a Senior Financial Data Reconciliation Analyst to operationalize, standardize, and scale reconciliation across Mercury's banking partners and internal systems.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives from design through delivery and help other analysts grow. You will own end-to-end reconciliations, develop data transformations and matching rules, monitor exceptions, build dashboards, and mentor teammates while supporting

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience handling complex transactional and financial data in fintech or financial services.
• Advanced SQL skills and data transformation pipeline development (e.g., dbt).
• Experience with reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, and accounting.
• Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation or matching tools (e.g., Blackline).
• Experience building BI dashboards to communicate metrics using Looker/Tableau/Omni.
• Experience mentoring other analysts and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience supporting audits, regulatory reporting, or financial-control testing.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and end-to-end reconciliation for new and existing products and funds flows.
• Develop and maintain data transformations, enrichment logic, and matching rules.
• Monitor and investigate reconciliation exceptions; perform root-cause analysis.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and reporting for reconciliation risks and improvements.
• Define requirements and specs for new products early in design.
• Support month-end close and audit readiness with timely analyses.
• Shape and execute the reconciliation roadmap across teams.
• Mentor analysts to grow technical and investigative skills.
