Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a Financial Coordinator in Richland, WA, to provide business services across the full project lifecycle, from capture to closeout.

You will develop budgets, forecasts, and spend plans, analyze variances, and work with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency. Proficiency in Excel/Power BI/SharePoint is expected, along with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• MS/MA or higher -OR- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant financial experience -OR- AA and 12 years of relevant financial experience.
• Qualifying experience in financial support of budget management, financial analysis, and tracking & reporting of cost and spend.
• Experience with sponsor-driven compliance and financial management in federal research environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial and business coordination across the full project lifecycle (capture/proposal, planning, execution, closeout).
• Independently develop and manage budgets, forecasts, accruals, and spend plans; analyze variances and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate proposal development and submissions; interpret sponsor requirements and integrate inputs.
• Support cost estimating and pricing activities with clear cost communication.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reporting for project leadership and sponsors.
• Support procurement and subcontract actions and drive process improvements.
• Use Excel/Power BI/SharePoint and internal systems to track data and troubleshoot issues.
• Build partnerships with project teams, operations, and external stakeholders.
