Job summary

InfraRec. is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a client in the power and energy infrastructure sector based in Rome, NY.

This role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in accounting or finance, including at least 3 years in a controller or senior management role, with a strong background in construction, energy, or infrastructure industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years in a controller or senior management role
• Experience in construction, energy, power, or infrastructure industries strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting a plus
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work on-site in Rome, NY

Responsibilities

• Reviewing financial reports and reconciliations prepared by accounting staff
• Monitoring project costs and comparing actuals to budget
• Meeting with department heads to discuss financial performance
• Reviewing and approving invoices, payments, and journal entries
• Working with the executive team on financial planning and strategy
• Addressing accounting or compliance issues as they arise
• Managing month-end and year-end close processes
• Coordinating with external partners such as banks, auditors, and tax advisors
• Oversee cost accounting for projects, contracts, and job costing
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions
