Job summary

P&A Group, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead accounting and controllership functions, ensuring integrity and timely reporting under U.S. GAAP. The role reports to the CFO and guides the accounting team through close, controls, audits, and treasury management.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, 7+ years in progressive accounting roles, and proven leadership in a high-growth environment. Travel to Buffalo HQ may be required; private equity experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Accounting degree strongly preferred.
• CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience leading a corporate accounting or controllership function.
• Experience owning monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated experience researching complex accounting matters.
• Experience leading external audits and coordinating tax & regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Company's accounting and controllership activities, including general accounting, financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, internal controls, and related processes.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring statements are accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies and a strong internal control environment.
• Serve as primary technical accounting resource for complex matters and significant transactions.
• Lead the annual financial statement audit and coordinate tax and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee cash management and treasury activities with appropriate controls.
• Provide oversight of financial systems and technology; manage system implementations and integrations.
• Partner with FP&A and CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Provide timely financial information and risk insights to the CFO and EXEC team.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and accounting for post-acquisition activities.
