Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Financial Operations Specialist to enhance its Finance & Accounting Data Analytics function. You will transform data, enable executive decision support, and help optimize processes across the Center, Division, and Laboratories.

The role demands strong SQL, data analytics, and communication skills, with an emphasis on governance, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration onsite in Albuquerque.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, MIS, data analytics, or related field with 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with a financial data warehouse or enterprise financial systems for corporate reporting.
• Experience with at least one analytics tech (Python, R, JMP, Power BI, Tableau, Power Query).
• Experience using analytics tools for decision-making (dashboards, trend analysis, statistics, predictive analysis).
• Experience writing SQL queries to extract, transform, analyze data.
• Experience briefing executive leadership and managing teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and interpret financial and operational data to support executive decision-making and risk assessment.
• Forecast, model, and analyze scenarios to communicate business issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Finance, IT, and Portfolio Offices.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and data products providing actionable insights.
• Translate requirements into practical data and reporting solutions.
• Automate processes using analytics, AI/ML, and related technologies.
