Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Early Career Financial Operations Specialist for an onsite role in New Mexico. The position oversees financial matters, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while collaborating with teams to support the laboratory’s mission.

Candidates should have a relevant degree and be able to obtain a DOE Q-level clearance. Salary range is $74,700 to $144,400, with geographic differential potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to conduct research and resolve business issues.
• Knowledge of Finance and Accounting Principles such as GAAP, CAS, governmental financial accounting, and relevant laws.

Responsibilities

• Post general ledger and sub ledger entries.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, payments and expense reports.
• Preparing and analyzing financial reports to support decision-making.
• Carry out internal controls activities.
• Maintaining accurate financial records.
• Supporting forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
• Ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
