Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an early career Data Scientist to join the ND Data Analytics Team onsite. You will contribute to verification, trend analysis, and tool development to support current and future national security programs.

You will work with MATLAB, Python, data visualization, and MBSE within an agile, collaborative team, often coordinating with senior analysts to improve code and models. A DOE Q clearance is required for employment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
• Graduate degree in a relevant computationally-intensive discipline where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation).
• Experience developing software for enterprise and national security applications.
• Experience acquiring, preparing, and analyzing real world data.
• Demonstrated software development skills and familiarity with modern software development practices.
• Proven ability to work and communicate effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies requirements and finds trends.
• Runs, maintains, and improves MATLAB code per request.
• Works with senior analysts to tackle Gitlab issues and maintain existing code base.
• Learns AGILE methodologies using GitLab.
• Collaborates with engineers on emerging systems and tests.
• Resolves technical and programmatic challenges in a team setting.
