Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to manage day-to-day cost control, accounting, and financial analysis for the Regulated & Renewable Energy Midwest organization. You will oversee O&M and capital spend of approximately $400M and provide end-user financial reporting for management, regulators, and external reporting.

You will collaborate with project teams to test reporting solutions, ensure GAAP compliance, and support budget planning using Hyperion/One Stream.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or a related discipline with prior work experience
• 2+ years (4+ desired) of progressively responsible experience in a related field
• Proficient use of Power BI and Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Provide and present accurate financial analysis and management reporting to enable strategic decision-making
• Consolidate management financial reporting including actuals, budgets and forecasts
• Coordinate month-end close activities and prepare journal entries and accruals
• Assist in governmental filings and respond to auditor inquiries as needed
• Support SOX documentation updates and management testing
• Maintain knowledge of accounting policies and impacts and manage cross-functional finance initiatives
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities through independent analysis
• Lead process improvements and drive accountability for financial management
