Job summary

NerdWallet, Inc is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with growth verticals, own the forecast, and deliver actionable financial insights. You will build scalable models, collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Operations, and present findings to senior leaders.

The role requires strong Excel/Sheets skills, advanced modeling, and experience with BI tools in a fast-paced, remote environment across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related quantitative field.
• 4-6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, or other analytical finance roles.
• Advanced financial modeling and forecasting experience for scalable planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
• Experience owning budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting processes.
• Proven ability to influence business decisions through data-driven recommendations and cross-functional partnerships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and BI tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner for growth verticals, supporting strategic planning and performance.
• Own the financial forecast for assigned areas, improving forecast accuracy.
• Develop and enhance financial models for scenario planning and pricing analyses.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting with variance analyses and executive summaries.
• Monitor KPIs and identify risks and opportunities early.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations to evaluate financial implications of initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and resource allocation.
• Communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Continuously improve forecasting methodologies and reporting tools.
