Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in the Physics Department to provide financial analysis and cost studies, ensuring optimal asset utilization. You will collaborate with faculty and staff to support budgeting, reporting, and policy recommendations within a dynamic university setting.

Responsibilities include overseeing AP processing, campus invoicing, and non-grant account support, with opportunities to lead special projects and improve financial controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration.
  • 6 years progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting with planning, forecasting, cost and financial analysis.
  • Experience with accounts payable, purchasing, or procurement processes, ideally in a higher education or government setting.
  • Working knowledge of government/fund accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • AP/Invoice Inbox & Vendor Payment Processing: primary contact for invoices and vendor payments per policy.
  • Machine Shop & Cryo Shop Invoicing: manage internal billing and reconcile with shop data.
  • Faculty Non-Grant Account & Budget Support: assist with non-grant balances and budgets.
  • Wire Payment Reconciliation & Encumbrance Removal: reconcile encumbrances after payments.
  • Other Duties & Special Projects: support additional financial projects as assigned.
