Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide comprehensive financial analysis and cost data reporting for the Physics department. This role supports budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliation across multiple shop and grant streams on a deadline-driven basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration.
• 6 years progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience with accounts payable, purchasing, or procurement processes in higher education or government setting.
• Working knowledge of government/fund accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• AP/Invoice Inbox & Vendor Payment Processing: manage invoices inbox and process vendor invoices per policy.
• Machine Shop & Cryo Shop Invoicing: handle internal billing and batch uploads, coordinate with staff for accuracy.
• Faculty Non-Grant Account & Budget Support: assist faculty with non-grant balances and budgets; provide training on reporting tools.
• Wire Payment Reconciliation & Encumbrance Removal: reconcile encumbrances after wire payments.
• Other Duties & Special Projects: support additional financial projects as assigned by Director.
