Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Herndon, VA to provide financial analysis and project control for government contracts. You will partner with program managers, accounting, and contracts teams to monitor performance and forecasts, ensure accurate invoicing, and support planning.

The role requires 2–5 years in government contract finance, Costpoint experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Person eligibility for government contracts per policy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with equivalent experience, 5–7 years of progressive financial analysis.
• 2–5 years in government contract financial management, including budgets, funded values, cost tracking, and profitability.
• Experience in project control analysis, invoice tracking, subcontract financial tracking, and funding monitoring.
• Experience developing annual operating plans, monthly forecasts, and variance analyses.
• 1–2 years Deltek Costpoint experience, including Costpoint Planning.
• Advanced Excel and ability to analyze, reconcile, and summarize complex financial data.
• Strong communication with program managers and leadership; attention to deadlines.
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform project control analysis—budgets, actual costs, commitments, estimates to complete and at completion.
• Track contract funding levels, expenditures, and remaining funded balances; flag funding shortfalls.
• Monitor customer invoices, billing status, and receivables; support timely billing and collection.
• Monitor subcontract budgets, commitments, invoices, and expenditures against funding.
• Assist development of the annual operating plan, budgets, revenue, and staffing assumptions.
• Prepare monthly forecasts using Costpoint Planning and current project performance.
• Conduct monthly variance analyses against budgets, forecasts, and the operating plan; explain drivers and propose actions.
• Prepare financial reports and communicate risks, opportunities, and performance trends to leadership.
• Maintain project financial data in Deltek Costpoint and reconcile reporting discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, and HR to improve processes and accuracy.
• Support development and maintenance of portfolio forecasts during monthly updates.
