Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a Senior Finance Administrative Officer to lead enterprise financial management for UVA Health. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in an academic medical center or integrated healthcare system with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Coordinate annual operating and capital budgets, including assumptions, calendars, and workflows.
• Develop long-range financial plans and models with capital needs and strategic initiatives.
• Lead ERP and back-office system implementation, optimization, and administration.
• Define requirements, design business processes, test, validate data, and ensure readiness for system implementations.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Accounting, and operations to align financial systems with enterprise processes.
• Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting structures, security, and workflows.
• Establish controls to ensure data integrity and transparency in financial planning information.
• Oversee cost accounting and analysis of costs, margins, and resource utilization across the health system.
• Develop cost structures, allocation methods, and reporting models for decision-making.
• Produce consolidated financial reports and dashboards for executives and the Board.
• Create standardized tools to consolidate information across entities and service lines.
• Translate complex financial data into clear analyses and executive briefings.
• Prepare financial schedules and briefing materials for leadership and the Board.
• Support recurring executive and Board reporting on performance and budgets.
• Partner with multiple finance functions to reconcile and validate financial information.
• Lead cross-functional process improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality.
• Develop policies and controls for budgeting, reporting, and financial planning systems.
• Provide training and guidance on financial planning systems and tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve integration among financial applications.
