Job summary

City of Maypearl seeks a detail‑oriented accounting professional to manage monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing. You will assist with audit preparation, budgeting, and grant reporting while ensuring accuracy across ledgers and accounts payable workflows.

Ideal candidates bring two years of accounting experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and a commitment to customer service in a municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Accounting experience of two years preparing and entering journal entries, bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• High school graduate or GED required; Associates degree preferred in Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and posts monthly journal entries and reconciles approximately 43 bank accounts.
• Performs reconciliations of general ledger accounts including payroll, utility billing and municipal court.
• Assists Finance Director with annual audit preparation and budget development.
• Processes payroll and accounts payable payments for payroll deductions/benefits.
• Responds to utility and court inquiries and provides customer service.
