Job summary

WhiteCap Search is seeking a finance reporting professional to support diverse accounting and data initiatives within the finance department. You will collaborate with the SEC Reporting Manager, Controllers and CFO to deliver analysis, enhance reporting deliverables, streamline processes, and improve data integrity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial reporting and accounting, with hands-on data/BI skills (SQL, Tableau) and experience handling large datasets.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience in audit, financial reporting, or related accounting/ reporting roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Solid grasp of accounting and reporting principles.
• Experience supporting SEC or regulatory/internal management reporting for public companies is desirable.
• Proficient in data and analytical skills with Excel/SQL/Tableau.

This position will collaborate closely with the SEC Reporting Manager, Controllers, and CFO to deliver top-notch analysis, enhance reporting deliverables, streamline processes, and elevate the team's overall operational efficiency.

The perfect candidate will possess a robust foundation in financial reporting and accounting, coupled with strong competencies in data and reporting, including proficiency in handling large datasets using tools like SQL, Tableau, or other BI platforms. This individual should thrive in a dynamic environment, working alongside finance and technology teams to refine reporting processes and improve data integrity over time.

Main Responsibilities

• Engage in various finance, accounting, and reporting initiatives, encompassing both external and internal reporting functions.
• Develop and sustain internal management reporting, recurring reporting packages, and perform ad hoc analyses.
• Handle large, complex datasets to aid in reporting, variance analysis, and offer management insights. Analyze, reconcile, and elucidate data across multiple sources.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and data outputs utilizing SQL, Tableau, or other BI tools.
• Assist with quarter-end and year-end reporting cycles, including support for audits and documentation requests.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance reporting processes, automate manual tasks, and improve data quality and controls.
• Participate in special projects related to reporting, systems, data governance, and finance process enhancements.

Candidate Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, accounting, and reporting processes.
• Capability to manage both external reporting and internal reporting/analytics.
• Meticulous, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a high-accountability setting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate, reconcile, and clarify data discrepancies.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with finance, audit, and data/technology stakeholders.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience in audit, financial reporting, or a related accounting/reporting role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Solid grasp of accounting and reporting principles.
• Experience in supporting SEC reporting, regulatory reporting, or internal management reporting for public companies is highly desirable.
• Proficient in data and analytical skills, including expertise in Excel, SQL, Tableau, or other BI tools.
• CPA certification or progress towards CPA is advantageous.
