Job summary

Meliá Hotels International is seeking a Senior Finance Executive for INNSiDE Bugibba to manage finance controls, month-end processes, and reporting within a pre-opening team. You will oversee reconciliations, cash management, and compliance, supporting budgeting and forecasting with SAP forecasts.

The role requires strong Excel, analytical and numerical skills, and prior experience in accounting/finance. Collaboration with various departments and strict confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar finance role.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or ACCA qualification (or currently progressing).
• Good knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Knowledge of financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Knowledge of SAP and hotel systems is an asset; must maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance controls, reconciliations, and compliance with company procedures.
• Act as the main finance contact in the absence of the Head of Finance.
• Monitor bank balances, cash positions, and credit card settlements.
• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, deferred income, and other month-end accounting entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, payroll accounts, supplier balances, and suspense accounts.
• Review payroll journals, process payroll entries, and support statutory submissions (VAT, ECO tax, FS5).
• Assist with management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and SAP forecast uploads.

Mission: As part of the pre-opening team, the Senior Finance Executive is an integral position responsible for handling part of the financial processes of the organization including helping with financial policies, helping with budgets, etc.

• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or ACCA qualification (or progressing).
• Good knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Knowledge of financial regulations
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Knowledge of SAP, Excel and hotel systems are considered an asset
• The right candidate must have excellent communication skills & a positive professional attitude.
• Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
