Wayne County NY is seeking an experienced financial administrator to supervise fiscal operations for a department with a major operating budget. You will oversee accounting, billing, budget formulation, grant oversight, and financial reporting.

You will work under the department head, supervise clerical staff, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local guidelines. A four-year degree with managerial experience or equivalent combinations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with four years of business/accounting experience, including managerial or supervisory work.
• Associate’s degree with six years of experience as described in A.
• High school diploma with eight years of experience as described in A.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience as described in A.

Responsabilités

• Oversees financial and accounting operations within a large department.
• Assists in formulation of department-specific fiscal policies and procedures.
• Establishes and monitors practices for billing and revenue collection.
• Confers with department head on fiscal matters.
• Assists in budget and financial reporting matters.
• Assists in annual operating budget formulation.
• Assists external auditor in providing data for audits.
• Interprets state and other directives related to fiscal operations.
• Oversees state aid and grant reporting, expenditure reporting, and reimbursement claims.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with guidelines.
• Performs other duties as required.
