Job Overview
A prominent law firm based in New York City, NY is actively seeking a highly accomplished legal professional to join its finance-focused legal team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced attorney with a demonstrated history of advising on complex private credit and structured lending matters. The role will involve navigating a variety of transactional structures and collaborating closely with lenders in middle-market and leveraged lending environments. Duties

  1. Manage and lead secured finance transactions involving direct lending and private credit matters
  2. Draft and negotiate a wide array of transactional documents including term sheets, commitment letters, credit agreements, and security instruments
  3. Coordinate and supervise the execution of lending deals from inception through closing
  4. Advise clients on capital structuring for buyouts, refinancings, and recapitalizations
  5. Engage in transactions involving cross-border financing and debt restructurings when applicable
  6. Interpret and implement inter-creditor agreements and asset-based lending terms
  7. Collaborate with partners, clients, and other attorneys to resolve complex legal and business issues

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of recent, high-level experience representing direct lenders or private credit funds
  • Extensive background in secured lending, leveraged finance, and middle-market transactions
  • Exposure to cross-border transactions, restructuring work, and inter-creditor arrangements is advantageous
  • Strong transactional drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate within a fast-paced, team-driven legal environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Demonstrated academic excellence required

Certifications

  • Must be a member in good standing of the New York State Bar
