Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Commerce, CA is seeking a Composites Filament Winding Technician 3. The role involves performing filament winding operations on tanks and following engineering drawings and specifications. You will setup, mix resins, wind, and cure materials according to procedures and test instructions.

You will program and troubleshoot winding machines, provide input on wind patterns to engineers, and assist with inspection and rework as needed. Daily tool and equipment cleaning is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency with 4+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience with filament winding machinery and equipment.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Knowledge of composite fiber and resin types.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform filament winding operations on tanks.
• Follow procedures, drawings, specifications and test instructions.
• Set up, resin mixing, winding and oven curing applications.
• Program and troubleshoot winding machine and software systems.
• Provide input on wind patterns with engineers/management.
• Inspect and rework products as required.
• Clean winding tools and equipment daily.
