Applied Composites in San Diego, CA seeks a Lead Winding Specialist to lead the Filament Winding Department. You will operate winding machinery and software, oversee final processing, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in winding and a strong understanding of composites. This on-site role emphasizes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in winding/filament processes.
• Knowledgeable in composites manufacturing and aerospace standards.
• Ability to read basic English instructions and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Filament Winding Department and guide the crew on daily direction.
• Operate winding machine and winding software.
• Oversee final processing of composite parts.
• Monitor data from gauges for pressure/temperature/ thickness.
• Identify problems and report findings for corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality checks.
• Schedule workflow and drive process improvements.
