Job summary

Bechtel Houston seeks an experienced Welding Engineer to lead, implement, and maintain global field welding programs on large-scale projects. You will manage the welding lab, rod room, heat treatment, and related quality processes to ensure compliance with Bechtel and client specifications.

Your role requires strong technical knowledge of SMAW/GTAW/GMAW/FCAW, NDE methods, and document control, with the ability to coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors to optimize schedules and

Qualifications

Requires 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years for a senior role.
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
NDE certifications including VT, PT and MT.
Advanced knowledge of SMAW/GTAW/GMAW/FCAW.
Strong welding process and quality control experience.

Responsibilities

Lead, implement, and maintain global field welding programs.
Manage welding test lab, rod room, and heat treatment program.
Provide specialized welding engineering support to ensure code compliance.
Coordinate NDE with construction and subcontractors.
Review welding documents and ensure program credibility.
Perform on-site welding inspections and rectifications prior to final inspection.
