Job summary

Schlumberger Limited seeks a seasoned Welding Engineer to lead welding design, procedure development and qualification activities for large oilfield projects in the United States. You will collaborate with QA, product engineering and manufacturing to ensure compliance with ASME, API 6A and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, and guide weldments through design reviews.

Candidates should have a BE/BSc in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Production and at least 15 years of industrial experience in

Qualifications

• Education – BE / BS in Welding Engineering / Metallurgy / Mechanical / Production with at least 15 years of industrial experience in oil & gas / related manufacturing industries as welding engineer or similar positions.
• Very thorough knowledge of NDE processes (LP, VT, MT, UT, RT, PAUT) and past qualifications preferred.
• Welding procedures, procedure qualification & welder qualification expertise; SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW & SAW expertise.
• Welding Inspector certification CWSIP / AWS CWI preferred
• Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review welding procedures in accordance with OneSubsea WS, welding design basis, functional design specifications, customer specs and industry codes.
• Prepare welding specifications, write & qualify welding procedures per codes/regulatory guidelines and customer requirements.
• Assist product engineers with weldment design, joint design, NDE considerations and selection of welding specs.
• Dispositions of discrepant parts requiring weld repair and nonconformances; participate in design reviews to reflect customer requirements in BOMs.
• Interface with QA, product engineering and manufacturing to solve welding problems and ensure regulatory compliance
