Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Field Tester III to validate autonomous vehicle software through real-world and simulation testing, and to help improve validation strategies and automation efforts.

The role requires hands-on work with autonomous systems, test vehicles, and test infrastructure, and involves collaboration with software, systems, and test teams to ensure scalable, reliable performance across testing environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, hardware testing, validation engineering, or quality assurance roles.
• Experience in real-world and simulation testing environments.
• Basic scripting for automation or data analysis (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with bug-tracking and requirements tools such as Jira and Jama.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; identify risks and mitigations.
• Ability to collaborate with software and systems engineers and test teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support advanced validation testing of autonomous vehicle software in real-world and simulation environments.
• Develop and execute scalability and system validation strategies for reliable performance.
• Troubleshoot complex system behaviors and diagnose root causes with engineering teams.
• Contribute to test automation with basic scripting in Python or Bash.
• Analyze test data and performance metrics to identify trends and improvements.
• Operate and test construction or heavy equipment during controlled operations with safety protocols.
• Support validation testing for new software releases with engineering teams.
• Document and track defects using Jira and Jama.
• Support integration testing involving onboard and offboard systems and test infrastructure.
• Provide input to improve testing methodologies and validation frameworks.
• Participate in on-site and off-site test operations to support program objectives.
