Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking an experienced Lease Compression Technician III to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and field repairs on natural gas compression equipment. You will work independently at customer sites, assess equipment, and provide clear recommendations for repairs and improvements.

This role requires hands-on expertise with engines and compressors and will involve travel to multiple field locations.

Qualifications

4–8 years of hands-on experience on natural gas compression equipment.
Experience with frame/engine swings, disassembly, and overhauls.
Valid driver’s license; high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex equipment issues on natural gas compressor packages and engines at customer sites.
Perform preventive, annual maintenance, complex repairs, and overhauls on engines and compressors in field and shop environments.
Monitor equipment performance, generate detailed reports, and recommend improvements to maintain reliable operation.
Complete frame and engine swings, end-frame work, disassembly, and engine/compressor overhauls as required.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, offering expert guidance on condition, repairs, and recommendations.
Provide hands-on support to Level I and II technicians to develop troubleshooting skills.
Work independently and safely in the field, representing Cooper professionally at customer interactions.
